I could raise chickens. And eat them.

My knee-jerk lament to anyone who points out how much cheaper and warmer things will be wherever I move next is that there won't be avocados or H&M or [insert other Bay Area perk here: sometimes it's the hiking, sometimes it's the Avedon exhibit, sometimes it's my precious, precious Palo Alto].

I mean, yes, I will be posting daily about how all the houses we're looking at have acreages and long, twisting driveways and kitchens in which you can perform an entire floor routine for $700 a month, but let's not forget the opportunities for culture and cheap trendy accessories that will be lost. Except I just looked that business up on the H&M website and it turns out Georgia has FOUR H&Ms, and one of them is only an hour from Athens. Maybe I can have it all!
(No Zara, though. Or Mixt. Or - oh, whatever. There is nothing there that remotely resembles the wealth of commerce and industry and vegetarian options here. I'm just going to have to find an offline hobby, like knitting. Or growing tobacco.)
