Mom always asks "what are you up to?" when she IMs me, and I always have to consider the easiest way to phrase my tasks to someone who thinks cookies are only for eating and Internet Explorer is the whole internet. I could say "i'm reconfiguring the sponsor input field for autocomplete" and deal with the incomprehension fallout, but there are a select few people in this world who don't deserve my insolence and one of them is my mama.
Various ways I've described my job, in which we can see a few themes:
"trabajando en un bug"
"working on more code bugs"
"working on fixing some stuff"
"fixing stuff, breaking stuff"
"i'm making sure our new site design looks the same in all browsers"
"trying to work on a project at work but everyone else is working on it as well"
"getting ready for our test before we put all the new code out into the wild"
"working on a project for the teamsugar groups pages"
"still working on making the groups pages better"
"right now i'm changing the celebrities page to be fancier"
"making some blog themes prettier"
"i did some bug fixing, ate a LOT of candy"
"right now i'm trying to put a logo of a sponsor on a page, but really i'm just killing time until CUPCAKES"
